Banana Avo Green Smoothie

I have been listening to my gut. And whilst that advice usually refers to intuition, it also speaks of digestion and immunity. The gut is the core centre of self-worth, happiness, strength, vitality and governs your well-being.

In support of this mighty system, I have a digestion recovery smoothie – vegan, HIGH in protein, and fibre, anti-inflammatory properties – and a great source of heart healthy mono-saturated fats.

A probiotic supplement containing active living microorganisms – promotes the growth and function of good bacteria in the gut, therefore boosting your immune system, and easing digestive issues. I take one everyday, in conjunction with a balanced healthy diet.

This green smoothie is thick, creamy and very fulfilling.

YOU WILL NEED:

1 frozen banana
1/2 ripe avocado
small handful baby spinach
1 & 1/2 cups nut milk (almond, hazelnut etc)
1 medjool pitted date
1 tsp chia seeds

Pop all of the ingredients in a high powered blender and blitz until smooth.

Spirulina Workout Smoothie

I like to enjoy this smoothie before a workout. Spirulina is incredibly high in protein and iron, vitamins and nutrients – essential for muscle building and repair, immune boosting and helps remove toxins from the blood. It can also help increase fat burning during exercise. 

Always choose a good quality organic spirulina, without additives.

YOU WILL NEED:
mango
banana
handful spinach
1 tspn spirulina
1 & 1/2 cups almond milk (I use fresh homemade)
ice

Place ingredients in a high powered blender and blitz until smooth. Serve in a glass.

Mango, Orange & Turmeric Smoothie

This smoothie contains turmeric which has anti-inflammatory properties, promotes effective digestion and may help reduce the severity of bacterial, viral infections and also maca – which is energy boosting, hormone balancing and rich in vitamins. It has a thick and creamy consistency, creating a meal in itself.

YOU WILL NEED:

1 x mango
1 x frozen banana
1 small piece of ginger
1tsp turmeric
1tspn organic maca powder
250ml organic coconut milk
orange juice from an orange

Blitz in a high powered blender – and serve in a glass with an orange slice.
